Separate talks with Syria rival sides starting in Geneva May

In a bid to kickstart stalled negotiations to end Syria's four-year conflict, the United Nations said Friday it would begin hosting separate talks with different parties in the conflict starting May 4.
"The Geneva consultation invitations have gone out a couple of days ago," UN spokesman Ahmad Fawzi told reporters in the Swiss city, saying the talks would last between four and six weeks and would be at "mostly ambassadorial level".
