Romanian PM charged with fraud, tax evasion, money laundering

Romanian prosecutors on Monday said they had charged Prime Minister Victor Ponta with three counts of corruption, in a move likely to increase pressure on the embattled politician to resign.
Ponta was charged with fraud, tax evasion and money laundering dating back to 2007-2011, before he became prime minister in 2012, the DNA anti-corruption agency said, adding that some of his property has been seized pending the outcome of the case.
