Italy's parliament approves radical new electoral law

Italy's parliament on Monday approved a radical new electoral law designed to ensure the country's elections always produce governments with working majorities.
The reform, aimed at ending decades of political instability caused by shaky coalition governments, was approved with 334 votes in favour and only 61 against in the National Assembly and will come into force next year.
