Chinese police kill 3 Xinjiang militants in northeast city

Police in the northeast Chinese city of Shenyang killed three knife-wielding "terrorists" from Xinjiang, the mainly Muslim region in far western China when they attacked police on Monday, local authorities said.
One other attacker was injured, the government of Liaoning province said on a verified social media account. It is the first fatal incident outside Xinjiang that Chinese authorities have linked to the restive region for more than a year.
