Police on Monday dispersed new protests in Burundi's capital against a bid by the central African nation's president to seek a controversial third term in office, an AFP correspondent said.

Police broke up a march of around 1,000 youths who were trying to reach the centre of Bujumbura. Several other demonstrations were reported to be taking place across the capital, the day after at least two protestors were shot dead and several more wounded in clashes with police.
