Khartoum document new start for more water cooperation

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said the agreement reached with Sudan and Ethiopia on sharing Nile waters and the renaissance dam marks the beginning of more cooperation between the three countries.
Speaking at joint press conference early on Friday, Shoukry said the agreed upon principles will help define the political and technical framework for cooperation and three-way relations.
The talks, which started in Khartoum on Tuesday, focused on the sharing of the Nile river water and resolving a dispute over a hydroelectric dam being built by Addis Ababa.
The countries have the will to reach consensus and the document will be the basis of action, he said.
