Bindi Irwin says that although she'll always be comfortable in Australia Zoo's khaki uniform, she's content experimenting with other styles.
The 16-year-old actress, who made her film debut in 2010's Free Willy: Escape from Pirate's Cove, spoke to US Weekly about coming into her own identity and sense of style while maintaining her love for her late father's vision.
"I'm kind of stepping away from khaki," the young conservationist and Netflix original host told the magazine. Earlier this month, Irwin made headlines when she posted a glam Instagram photo showing off her makeup, launching a worldwide conversation about how she has grown since her father, Steve Irwin's death in 2006.
"I hope he'd be proud," she said of her wishes that he'd approve of her projects, including her involvement in her family's Wildlife Warriors organization and her Netflix original series Bindi's Bootcamp. "That's my end goal. He was like our living, breathing superhero. He was so passionate and clever."
