Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi
Khartoum - Arab Today

Egypt is reassessing the Nile Basin Initiative and pending issues with NBI members with the aim to reach a solution, Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said on Saturday.
Moghazi, who leads Egypt's delegation to an NBI extra-ordinary conference for the first time in five years, pressed for cooperation among member states to solve disputes and achieve partnership.
Bilateral cooperation with all Nile Basin countries will continue, Moghazi said, adding Egypt is willing to share its expertise with and offer support for NBI states.
Egypt is seeking to solve pending disputes through diplomatic exchange, the minister said.
Moghazi said Egypt has agreed to attend to extra-ordinary conference with the aim to share its vision to reach a joint understanding among all NBI states on points of dispute in the Entebbe Framework Agreement.
But he still stressed that Egypt won't sign up the Entebbe deal in its current shape.
Egypt's vision is based on good will, Moghazi said, adding that Cairo is seeking to meet halfway with African brethren to achieve development and maintain common interests of all NBI peoples without harming any party.
It is a bid to bring closer viewpoints regarding points of dispute in the Entebbe Framework Agreement, he noted.
Egypt has frozen its NBI activities following the Entebbe Framework Agreement.
