1m feddan project not restricted to agriculture

The one-million feddan reclamation project is not just an agricultural but an integrated development project that aims the establishment of new urban communities based on agriculture, industry and services, Water Resources Minister Hossam Moghazi said.
Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the project will not be constrained to cultivation but will have a more inclusive approach to become a nucleus of future governorates, Moghazi said following a meeting he had with the ministers of planning, agriculture, housing and electricity on Sunday.
During the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), held in mid March in Sharm El Sheikh, cooperation protocols were signed with 19 investors for the reclamation of 600,000 feddans.
