Cairo - Mohammed Alloush

Egyptian actor Ahmed Rizk has said he is not surprised with the Western hostility towards Egypt, following the ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi. Speaking to Arab Today, Rizk claimed that Egyptians had given armed forces chief and Defence Minister Abdul Fattah al-Sisi the mandate to tackle terrorism and extremism. "I'm not surprised with the hostile position adopted by the West and the US towards Egypt. I have been surprised by the support for Muslim Brotherhood in Egyptian society. How can people sympathise with this group? I ask them, give me one reason." Rizk questioned US motives in describing the Morsi ouster as a "coup".   "So, are the Western countries supporting ?Islam now, and Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and all the other Arab countries opposed to it?"? The Egyptian star recently starred in the play Habibi al-Madroub, which was broadcast in Kuwait on the Islamic festival of Eid al-Fitr. The drama was written by Ahmed al-Ebiary and directed by Abdel Ghany Zaki.
